Pepper is a vibrant, online learning community where educators can have anytime, anywhere access to rigorous, high-quality professional development content focusing on implementation of teaching and learning standards.
I was tasked with the UX design of the Pepper interface. This was an incredibly robust interface with multiple functions. The client needed to be able to show all these function in a clean clear-cut way. One function of the pepper platform is the comprehensive reporting and course statistics. They needed the stats to be quickly retrievable with minimal clicking. My solution was to use a hover function that would allow the user to see their stats easily in seconds with no clicking. Another key function that needed to be addressed was the “Pepper Talk” community. This was an item the client expressed was very important and wanted to have it accessible on any page. To avoid over crowding the layout I built it as a tab function so that it’s always there for the user to access on any page, but could also collapse when not using it, helping keep the layout clean and uncluttered.
